Samsung Engineer Puts Down The Rumors Of Galaxy S8 Mini

Over the past couple of days, we have to hear a lot about Samsung planning on launching the new Galaxy S8 Mini smartphone. While this was something we had reported earlier as well, however, it was a part of April Fools Prank and it was not official. However, after the recent rumors, it was expected that Samsung might just launch a new mini. But now, it looks like the company has no plans to do this as the same has been confirmed by one of the company’s official.

A new tweet which comes from China puts an end to all the speculation surrounding the new Galaxy S8 Mini smartphone. The user who tweeted is apparently has been the source of spot-on information before. According to the post, a Samsung Engineer has deemed the rumors as false. According to him, there is no Galaxy S8 Mini smartphone up in works from the company and hence it is not something which we will be seeing next from the South Korean giant.

This news about the company not launching a mini version of the Galaxy S8 might be very disappointing for many. Considering the fact these devices are quite tall, launching a mini version would have made a lot of sense after all. It was reported that the Galaxy S8 Mini would be sporting a much smaller display, which would allow users with small hands, handle the device well. The aspect ratio was, however, expected to be the same. It was also expected to be powered by the same Snapdragon 835 SoC and 4GB RAM. So basically, everything was expected to be the same and only the display size was expected to be different.

However, now that is mostly confirmed, we should stop drooling over the rumors and move on with other launches, like the Galaxy S8 Active for instance. The company is also expected to launch the new Galaxy S8 Active in the U.S. which will be a more rugged version of the fragile Galaxy S8. The smartphone was in fact, spotted at the FCC as well, which means that the launch is near. Having said that, we would like to know your thoughts on this.
