Earlier this year it was informed that Samsung Electronics and Samsung Display would unveil its foldable smartphone in a private exhibition room which was limited to invited customers. Now there is news about the South Korean Giant is plans to bring its first sample of the foldable device in the third quarter of this year. While every other smartphone makers are busy making displays with smaller bezels and Samsung is busy making its bendable displays.
The bendable display concept is to bring foldable handset that can be compact and can also be unfurled if required. Samsung has been working on foldable OLED displays for many years now and can bring out something unique in the third quarter this year but for which we need to wait for few more months. It will the same time where even Apple will be announcing its OLED iPhone 8.
The reports also suggest that the device is expected to be a luxurious device and will be made of top quality material. We can also expect an affordable version of the same, but it will all be a mystery until Samsung decides to unveil. The reports further claim that the company is planning to produce thousands of prototypes so that the carrier’s partners can directly get them for testing and decide accordingly if the device can be introduced in small quantities or larger quantities.
Many other companies have been trying to bring out foldable displays, and these can be unveiled at the time frame, but Samsung might try and bring out the best quality displays and also become the first company to bring the foldable display into the market.
