Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 with Metal Body & Fingerprint Sensor Launched at Rs. 9,999

As confirmed earlier, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is officially launched in India today. It is the same Redmi Note 3 Pro that was launched in China in January this year. The Redmi Note 3 powered by Helio X10 was first unveiled in November last year in China while the enhanced variant Redmi Note 3 Pro with Snapdragon 650 was launched later. The device is priced at Rs. 9,999 for 16GB and Rs. 11,999 for 32GB and is one of the affordable smartphones to come with the metal body. It is first ever Redmi smartphone to come with fingerprint sensor or a metal body.
In detail, the device the features a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels ) IPS display with oleophobic coating for protection. Under the hood, the Note 3 comes powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 650 hexa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz and coupled with Adreno 510 GPU and 2GB/3GB of RAM. It has 16GB/32GB of internal storage that can be further expanded upto a maximum of 128GB.
There is a 16MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and PDAF that can focus in just 0.1 seconds, on the front is the 5MP camera with the same f/2.0 aperture for capturing better selfies in low light conditions. It is backed by a 4,050mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0 support that charges 50% in just one hour . The device supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE with VoLTE. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/GLONASS, MicroUSB 2.0 port along with 4G LTE.
It also features IR blaster for controlling home appliances like TV, AC, and other just like a remote controller. The device measures 8.65 mm thickness and weighs around 164 grams in weight. It runs on the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop based MIUI 7. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear of the device can unlock the device in just 0.3 seconds. It also comes in dark grey, silver and gold color options. Apart from this, we also expect to hear announcements regarding the recently announced Mi 5 and Mi 4S launch in India, but there are no details mentioned in the event.

Xiaomi is also offering two months of Hungama subscription for free along with Redmi Note 3 purchase. It also announced a new app called as ‘Mi Mover‘ for transferring content from old smartphone to new Mi Phone. The devices will be available sale through Mi.com and Amazon India starting from March 9th and later will be sold through all major online and offline stores across India.
