Not long ago, Xiaomi had unveiled its new budget and mid-range smartphones under Redmi Note series in India. The company had launched the Redmi Note 7 and the Redmi Note 7 Pro smartphones starting at Rs 9,999 and Rs 13,999 respectively. They featured new glass body finish, which are the first phones from Xiaomi to feature glass body, especially in this budget segment. That said, there’s a new report/video that has surfaced on the web suggesting the successor of the Redmi 6 smartphone – the Redmi 7, which is yet to be announced by the company.

According to the hands-on video surfaced and earlier released TENAA certification, Xiaomi’s upcoming Redmi 7 is said to be featuring a 6.26-inch LCD 19:9 display with a water drop notch enclosed in a polycarbonate body, unlike the Redmi Note 7 series that featured glass body finish. Apart from the polycarbonate finish, the video also reveals a gradient color design on the rear rather than the aluminum body design on the earlier released Redmi series phones.
Digging into the specifications the video suggests that the Redmi 7 is power by the Snapdragon 632 SoC followed by 3GB of RAM and 64GB storage. As for the cameras, the Redmi 7 is said to have a 12MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie shooter. The battery on the Redmi 7 appears to be of 4000mAh capacity, which can be charged with a micro USB port at the bottom. For authentication, the Redmi 7 features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The pricing and the launch of the Redmi 7 is yet to be known. However, going by the earlier Redmi models, the Redmi 7 will most likely be priced under Rs 10,000 and will also be featuring in multiple storage variants – 3/4/6GB of RAM and 32/64/128GB of onboard storage, for instance.
