After introducing the new C-series by launching the Realme C1 low-cost smartphone, Realme today launched the Realme U1 selfie-centric smartphone under the new U-series. Just like its earlier products, the company is offering best-in-class specifications at a competitive price. Talking about the devices, the company continues to use the glossy finish fiber body. It comes in Ambitious Black, Brave Blue, and Fiery Gold color options.
The Realme U1 sports a 6.3-inch dewdrop display with Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. With the tiny notch on the top, the device offers a 90.8% screen-to-body ratio. It even comes with a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection the top. The all-new MediaTek Helio P70 is also making global debut with the Realme U1 smartphone. It packs 4x Cortex-A73 cores and 4x Cortex-A53 cores along with Mali G72 GPU.
It comes in 3GB and 4GB RAM variants with 32GB and 64GB of internal storage respectively. There is also a dedicated MicroSD card slot for further expanding the storage up to 256GB. In terms of optics, the device sports 13MP + 2MP dual rear cameras with f/2.2 aperture and a 25MP single front camera with f/2.0 aperture. The camera app on this device comes equipped with AI features like scene detection, beauty mode, and studio lighting.
The device is backed by a 3,500mAh non-removable battery and supports 5V/2A (10W) charging input. It measures 157 x 74 x 8 mm and weighs 168 grams. The Realme U1 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with Color OS 5.2 laid on top. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port.
