Earlier this year, OPPO announced the RealMe as its sub-brand and launched the RealMe 1 as its first smartphone. Last month, it became an independent company like OnePlus and is expanding to other Asian markets. The RealMe 1 powered by Mediatek Helio P60 processor came with an aggressive price tag in India. Now, the company is teasing the launch of RealMe 2 as the successor to RealMe 1. As of now, there is no information about the exact launch date of this device.
While the RealMe 2 is launching soon in India, the company has confirmed it to sport notch display on the front and dual cameras on the rear. The RealMe 1 came with an 18:9 FullView display and single rear camera. While OPPO recently introduced waterdrop screen with v-shaped notch, the RealMe 2 will stick with 19:9 notch display. It might also be due to the cost-cutting measures in order to launch the device at an aggressive price.
The RealMe 2 will also come equipped with one main drawback on its predecessor. It will sport a rear-facing fingerprint sensor to unlock the device. From the leaked image, we can still see the diamond finish back panel as seen on the RealMe 1. The RealMe 2 should also be sold exclusively on Amazon India. We will be knowing more details in the coming days. The RealMe 1 is still the only smartphone under Rs 10,000 to use Helio P60 chipset.
The 6GB RAM variant with 128GB of internal storage priced at Rs 13,990 is also the most affordable 6GB RAM smartphone in the country. The ReaMe 1 offers 6-inch Full HD+ display and MediaTek Helio P60 processor. In terms of optics, there is a 13MP single camera on the rear with LED flash and an 8MP single front camera.
