Realme 2 & Realme C1 Get Android 9.0 Pie-based ColorOS 6 Beta Update

The Realme 3 launched earlier this year is the first smartphone to come with Android 9.0 Pie-based ColorOS 6 out of the box. Later the company also launched the Realme 3 Pro and Realme C2 with the ColorOS 6. The company also officially confirmed to release the ColorOS 6 update for all its previous smartphones. The Realme 2 Pro has already received the ColorOS 6 stable update. Now, the Realme 2 and Realme C1 are getting the Android 9.0 Pie Beta update.
The company is offering the chance to try out the Android 9.0 Pie Beta only to a small number of users. Interested users can signup for the beta build by clicking on this link and sharing the required details like email and IMEI number of the device. Once the request is accepted, your device will receive an OTA update for the latest ColorOS 6 beta. If you are using any of these devices as your primary devices, then we don’t recommend installing the beta update as it will be unstable and comes with bugs.
Both the Realme C1 and Realme 2 are launched with Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.2 out of the box. While Android 9.0 Pie is the first major update, we hope the company also releases the Android Q update by the end of this year or in early 2020. Talking about the new features of the ColorOS 6, the devices will now get the app drawer. The devices will also include a new app called Realme Theme store for downloading the themes. It now comes with riding mode along with new navigation gestures.
The notifications panel now comes with a completely refreshed UI. With the new update, the company also added notification icons in the status bar. The latest beta update also brings the June Android security patch update. As of now, there is no ETA mentioned for the rollout of the ColorOS 6 stable update for both these smartphones. We think the rollout will mostly happen in the month of July. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
