Realme 1, Realme 2 Pro & Realme U1 to Soon Get Android 9.0 Pie Update
Recently, Realme launched its new budget smartphone called Realme 3 in India. It is the first smartphone to come with the all-new ColorOS 6 running on Android 9.0 Pie. During the Realme 3 launch event, the company also confirmed to release the ColorOS 6 update through its portfolio in a timely manner. Today, Madhav Sheth, CEO of Realme India, has tweeted out saying the Realme 1, Realme 2 Pro, and Realme UI will be first devices to get the latest ColorOS 6 update.
With the ColorOS 6, the device will be updated to Android 9.0 Pie and also brings several new features. Mainly, the devices will be getting the app drawer which we normally don’t find on Chinese ROMs. The user can swipe up from the bottom of the home screen to see all the apps. On top of the app drawer, we can also find the search bar and app predictions. Also, this new update will bring the Nightscape mode for capturing better photos in low-light conditions.
It is already available on the newly launched Realme 3 smartphone along with Chroma Boost feature. While there is no exact date mentioned, the update for these three devices will be arriving in the first half of 2019. While the Chinese version of ColorOS 6 comes with its own AI assistant called Breeno, the global version stick with the Google Assistant. It also comes with a totally revamped UI with bigger icons in the quick settings panel.
The animation for the increasing/decreasing the volume and brightness looks very much similar to MIUI 10 animations. We can also find new gesture navigation which feels smoother while multitasking. In the coming weeks, the company will also launch its mid-range Realme 3 Pro smartphone in India. It is expected to sport a complete bezel-less display with pop-up camera and 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor on the rear. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
