Panasonic Eluga Mark Launched with Fingerprint Sensor & Android-For-Work Security

Panasonic has announced new smartphone called ‘Panasonic Eluga Mark‘ that includes a couple of security features. In the recent times, the smartphone priced around Rs.10,000 price range are coming fingerprint sensors for making the devices more secure. The 2016 Galaxy A5 and A7 that are announced yesterday also sports fingerprint sensor that also supports company’s Samsung Pay for mobile based payments. Talking about the Eluga Mark, it includes a fingerprint sensor and supports Android-For-Work for making the device even more secure for using for office works.

Commenting on the launch, Pankaj Rana, Business Head – Mobility Division, Panasonic India, said,

“With the growing use of smartphones for a wider range of high-risk activities such as access to cloud data and private information, mobile security is a top priority for users. This control-sensitive device, which achieves complex tasks with the press of a finger or a swipe of the thumb, is personalized for the user and protects the smartphone investment. We are approaching an end of the year which brings our portfolio for 2015 to a total of 16 new devices launch with a few more to come. In 2016 we would be focusing on “Make in India” and 4G enabled devices by targeting international markets and regions.

The device comes with 5.5-inch IPS display with HD (1280×720) resolution and is powered by Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor. It has 2GB of RAM, 16GB of in-built storage, and a MicroSD card slot for expanding upto 32GB. The fingerprint sensor on this device supports up to a maximum of eight different finger prints while the other devices support only five.

It includes a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP selfie camera on the front. The device is backed by a 2,500mAh battery and offers connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, MicroUSB 2.0 including 4G LTE. It supports Android-for-Work with which the device is secure to use for professional purposes. It also supports dual SIM dual standby with 4G LTE connectivity and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with customized FitHome UI on top.

It will be available in Royal Gold and Metallic Grey colors and costs only Rs. 11,990. At this price range, there are few other devices that offer better specifications, but they lack the fingerprint. The availability of the device is not yet known, stay tuned for more updates.
