OPPO R17 & R17 Pro Smartphones with No Fingerprint Sensor Get Certified in China

Almost after four years gap, OPPO has launched the flagship smartphone under the Find series. In India, the device came with a ridiculous price tag of Rs 60,000. Even at that price, the Find X skipped offering the fingerprint sensor. In the coming weeks, the company will unveil the OPPO R17 and R17 Pro smartphones. The OPPO R17 is now certified by TENAA in China and the complete specifications are yet to be updated.

Talking about the design, the device might come with glass back body. On the front, we will be looking at a notch display.  The company might opt for the 6.3-inch AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. It is backed by a 3,415mAh non-removable battery and might support OPPO’s VOOC Flash Charge technology. The device will be available gradient finish and measures 156.7 x 74 x 7.9 mm.

The OPPO R17 Pro should also come with similar glass back body. Compared to the R17, the R17 Pro will be packing slightly better hardware. According to the leaks, the device might come with 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 Mobile Platform coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Both the OPPO R17 and R17 Pro smartphones will be missing the fingerprint sensor. The users have to completely depend on the face unlock feature.

Apart from the flagship OPPO Find X, there are quite a few budget OPPO smartphones which also lack a fingerprint sensor. The O-Face Recognition introduced with the Find X might not make its way to the OPPO R17 smartphones. While there is no official confirmation, the company might launch the new OPPO R17 and R17 Pro smartphones next month in China. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
