BlackBerry Evolve & Evolve X Smartphones Could Launch in India on August 2nd

From the last few months, there are leaks about the Blackberry Ghost & Ghost Pro smartphones. Earlier this month, Evan Blass has confirmed the Blackberry Ghost and Ghost Pro to be officially launched as BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X. Unlike the Blackberry KEY2 smartphone which is manufactured by TCL, the BlackBerry Evolve smartphones might be exclusive to the Indian market and will be manufactured by India-based Optiemus Infracom.
A few days back, the Blackberry KEY2 is made available in India by Optiemus Infracom for Rs 42,990. The device will be exclusively sold via Amazon India starting July 31st. Now, the company has sent out the media invites for the launch of new Blackberry smartphones on August 2nd. While there is no information about the upcoming devices, we expect the company to launch the BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X smartphones.
However, there are also rumors about the launch of a cheaper variant of the KEY2 called KEY2 LE. Unlike the KEY2 and KEY2 LE which came with QWERTY keypad and 3:2 display, the Evolve and Evolve X will be coming with a full touchscreen display and 18:9 aspect ratio. Earlier to this, the company has launched DTEK smartphones with full touchscreen displays. The earlier leaks suggested Evolve (a.k.a Ghost) to sport a large 4,000mAh battery.
The devices should be running on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with the custom skin on top. Though the Blackberry device offers close to stock Android experience, they will be getting the Blackberry Hub and DTEK by BlackBerry out of the box. As of now, there isn’t much information available about the BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X smartphones. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details about the upcoming Blackberry devices.
