OPPO had recently launched the OPPO F3 Plus smartphone with dual selfie cameras. The F3 Plus is the same OPPO R9s Plus smartphone launched in China, but additionally comes with dual cameras on the front. Now, the company is getting ready to unveil the successor to the last year’s flagship smartphones, OPPO R9 and R9 Plus. Since the company skips using the even numbers for its smartphones, the upcoming devices will be called OPPO R11 and R11 Plus. A new OPPO smartphone with the model number R6051 is listed on GFXbench. It is expected to to be the OPPO R11 that will be launched in the next few weeks.
Last week, we had the seen the GFXbench listing of Xiaomi Mi 6 and Mi Max 2 smartphone revealing the key specifications. The upcoming OPPO R11 features a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels), and we expect the company to offers AMOLED panel. With the Full HD resolution, the device misses out Google’s Daydream support. Even last year’s OPPO R9 also came with the same display. While the major manufacturers are trimming down the bezels to offer higher screen-to-body ratio, we don’t expect OPPO will offer anything similar to those displays. Interestingly, the listing mentioned the device to run on Android 7.1.1 out of the box.
OPPO is one of those manufacturers who offer the latest Android updates very lately. Even its in-house ColorOS is updated from Android 5.1 Lollipop t0 Android 6.0 Marshmallow only in 2017. The OPPO R11 comes powered by Snapdragon octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz coupled with Adreno 510 GPU. Those there is no confirmation over the specific chipset, the leaks suggest the company to use the yet to be announced Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor with custom Kryo cores. The earlier leaks suggested the Snapdragon 660 SoC to use Adreno 512 GPU. Even the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 might also use this same processor.
It packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage. The OPPO smartphones are more focused on cameras, and the upcoming OPPO R11 might not disappoint at least with its camera specifications. The device sports a 16MP sensor on the rear and a whopping 20MP sensor on the front. These are the same set of cameras that are also used on the Vivo V5 smartphone. The recently launched OPPO F3 Plus came with a 16MP and 8MP dual front cameras. Talking about the OPPO R11 Plus, it will come with a larger display and might use the same internals as on the OPPO R11.
The device comes with dual SIM dual standby support and also features a fingerprint sensor. It also includes accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, pedometer, proximity, and light sensors. Xiaomi and LeEco will be launching their new flagship smartphones in the next few weeks. As of now, there is no official information about the launch of OPPO R11 and R11 Plus.
