Last month, OPPO unveiled the flagship Find X smartphone with several innovative features. However, the company is skipping the Find X Automobili Lamborghini Edition smartphone launch in India. The Find X is the company’s latest smartphone in the Find series and is technically the successor to Find 7 launched in 2014. It comes in Bordeaux Red and Glacier Blue color options and is priced at Rs 60,000. The pre-orders will begin on July 30th and the device will be on sale starting August 3rd.
It can be purchased via Flipkart and offline OPPO stores across the country. Talking about the device, the Find X comes with gradient finish glass back body with curved edges. In the world of bezel-less displays with notches, you won’t find anything except the display on the front of the Find X. The device comes with stealth 3D cameras which will slide out when required. Though the moving parts on smartphones is not a great idea, the company is said to have intensively tested the device.
Even if you open the cameras 150 times per day, the camera mechanism will be working flawlessly for more than 5 years. The Find X also sports FaceID-alternative called O-Face and uses flood illuminator, Infrared camera, ranging sensor, receiver, dot projector, and front camera. The O-Face face unlock feature on this device is more secure than using a fingerprint sensor. Also, note that the device lacks a fingerprint sensor. The face unlock works perfectly fine even in dark and takes just 0.5 seconds to unlock.
On the front is the 6.42-inch dual curved AMOLED display with Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The 93.8% screen-to-body ratio of Find X is also the highest on any commercial smartphone. Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The Find X is backed by a 3,730mAh battery and supports standard (20W) VOOC flash charge technology that gives 2 hours of usage time with just 5 minutes of charging.
It runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo-based custom ColorOS 5.1 AI intuitive system. Talking about the cameras, the Find X sports a 25MP selfie camera on the front that can capture 3D AI selfies using the data from O-Face sensors. On the rear, the device sports 16MP + 20MP dual camera with OIS support and includes AI scene detection feature. Both the front and rear cameras support AI portrait mode and 3D lighting. The Find X also includes Omojis feature, the company version of Apple’s Animojis.
It measures 156.7 x 74.2 x 9.4 mm and weighs 186 grams. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac; Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port. The device doesn’t support Wireless Charing and lacks MicroSD card slot.
