OPPO K3 With Snapdragon 710 SoC & 16MP Dual Rear Cameras Launched in India

OPPO has launched its new mid-range device — the OPPO K3 in India. The phone had been released earlier in China and is now brought to the country to take on the recently launched Realme X, and Xiaomi’s Redmi K20 smartphones. The OPPO K3 shares most of the similarities when it comes to design and specifications with the aforementioned devices. The earlier released variant in China was priced at CNY 1599 (Rs 16,000 approx) for the 6GB+64GB variant. The Indian pricing of the OPPO K3 starts at Rs. 16,990 for the 6GB+64GB varaint. The larger 8GB+128GB varaint is priced at Rs 19,999. And, the device will be an Amazon Exclusive and the sale starts on July 23.

Digging into the deets, the OPPO K3 features 6.5-inch Full Screen AMOLED FHD+ display that comes with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and achieves an aspect ratio of 91.1%. To achieve the full notch-less display, the Chinese OEM maker had implemented Rising Selfie camera on the top and an in-screen fingerprint sensor, for authentication. The fullscreen display is enclosed in a 3D gradient body finish on the back.

Under the hood, the OPPO K3 packs in Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 SoC, which is an octa-core processor with clock speeds of up to 2.2GHz and has GPU Adreno 616 GPU. For gaming, the OPPO K3 comes with Game Boost 2.0 game engine, which claimes to enhance resource-intensive games like PUBG’ gameplay. In terms of storage, the OPPO K3 features in 6/8GB RAM and 64/128GB built-in storage variants.

As for the optics, the OPPO K3 comes with dual rear cameras set up comprising of a 16MP primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture paired with a 2MP depth sensor with an aperture of f/2.4. The rear cameras on the OPPO K3 come with Ultra Night Mode 2.0 that is said to have built-in Image Stabilisation and also has Night-Scene Noise Reduction feature. The Rising Camera, upfront, has a 16MP selfie shooter with an aperture of f/2.0 and additionally comes with AI Beautification and Portrait modes as well. For video, the OPPO K3 supports 4K video recording for up to 30fps and also features slow-motion video recording up to 1080p and has EIS (Electronic Video Stabilisation) as well.

The OPPO K3 is kept alive by a 3765mAh battery, which further supports the company’s VOOC Flash Charge 3.0 technology. The OPPO K3 ships with ColorOS 6, which is based on Google’s latest Android 9.0 Pie. The connectivity options on the OPPO K3 include — Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm headphone jack, OTG support and USB Type-C for charging. The phone additionally features Dolby Atmos surround sound feature for the more enhanced audio experience.
