OPPO today launched a new A-series smartphone called OPPO A9x in China. With the glossy finish body and protruding rear cameras, the OPPO A9x looks exactly same as the recently launched OPPO A9. The device will be available in Ice Jade White and Meteorite Black color options. While the OPPO A9 came with 16MP dual camera setup on the rear, the primary sensor on the A9x is upgraded to 48MP. The new OPPO A9x comes in 6GB + 128GB storage variant and is priced CNY 1999 (approx USD 290 / INR 20,000).
The OPPO A9x comes with a 6.53-inch IPS display with Full HD+ (2340 × 1080 pixels) resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. With the waterdrop notch, the display on this device offers 90.70% screen-to-body ratio. It also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the top. Under the hood, the device comes powered by the 12nm MediaTek Helio P70 octa-core processor coupled with Mali-G72 GPU. As mentioned earlier, the OPPO A9x comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
In the camera department, the OPPO A9x sports dual rear cameras featuring 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.7 aperture and a 5MP depth sensor. As seen on the OPPO A9, the new AP9x also comes with the same 16MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture for selfies. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie based ColorOS 6.0 out of the box. The device also supports GameBoost 2.0 to further enhance gaming performance. It is backed by a 4,020mAh non-removable battery and supports 5V/4A (20W) VOOC 3.0 flash charge technology
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. While the power button is placed on the right edge, the volume rocker can be found on the left side. The OPPO A9x measures 162 × 76.1 × 8.3 mm and weighs 190 grams. The device also comes with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner and supports face unlock using the front camera.
