OPPO A9 with 6.53″ Display & Helio P70 SoC Launched in China

OPPO launched the mid-range OPPO A9 (PCAM10) smartphone today in China. It comes with a curved glass body with a matte gradient finish. The device comes in Sea Green, Nebula Purple, and Jade White color options. The OPPO logo, camera ring, and fingerprint scanner border will come with a gold accent in all three color options. Even the design of the device looks similar to the OPPO Reno smartphone. The OPPO A9 is priced at CNY 1799 (approx USD 266 / INR 18,750) and will be available starting April 30th.
Even though the device looks premium, it comes with basic specifications. On the front, the OPPO A9 sports 6.53-inch waterdrop notch display with Full HD+ (2340 × 1080 pixels) resolution and 90.70% screen-to-body ratio. It also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the top. Under the hood, the device comes powered by the 12nm MediaTek Helio P70 octa-core processor. Even the recently launched OPPO F11 Pro smartphone featured the same chipset. It comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
The device will also come with a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. Coming to the cameras, the OPPO A9 sports 16MP + 2MP dual camera setup on the rear with f/1.8 aperture and a 16MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture for selfies. The camera also comes loaded with several AI features to enhance the photos captured with this device. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie based ColorOS 6.0 out of the box. The GameBoost 2.0 will improve the gaming performance of the device while playing compatible titles.
It is backed by a 4,020mAh non-removable battery and there is no mention of fast charging support. While the power button is placed on the right edge, the volume rocker can be found on the left side. The OPPO A9 measures 162 × 76.1 × 8.3 mm and weighs 190 grams. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. The device comes with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner and supports face unlock. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
