Honor 8S Entry-Level Smartphone Announced with 5.71″ Display & 3020mAh Battery

Honor has announced its new smartphone in Russia called Honor 8S. The handset will be an entry-level device that comes with some basics specs sheet. It will be available in Blue, Black and Gold color options and is priced at 8490 Rubles (approx Rs. 9200) and is already available for sale in Russia. There is no information on global availability nor the pricing as of now but it is expected to be rollout in the other markets soon.
Well, talking about this device, the Honor 8S comes with a 5.71-inch (1520 × 720 pixels) HD+ along with 19:9 aspect ratio and a curved glass display on top. Under the hood, there is a 12nm Quad-Core MediaTek Helio A22 SoC with a clocking speed of 2GHz which is coupled with IMG PowerVR GE-class GPU. There is a small 2GB of RAM which looks to be below par when compared to many devices in the market with similar pricing.
The Honor 8S is a dual SIM variant that has a dedicated microSD card slot through which the user can extend the memory further up to a maximum of 512GB since it only comes with 32GB of onboard storage. It comes out of the box with Android 9 Pie operating system with the companies own EMUI 9.0 on top and might get further updates when available. The handset measures 147.13 mm × 70.78 mm × 8.45 mm and weighs 146 grams.
There is just a single rear-facing camera on the device with 13MP capacity along with a LED flash and f/1.8 aperture size. There is also a 5MP sensor on the front for selfies that is housed in the dewdrop notch on the front. The connectivity option of the device includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, A-GPS and more along with the sensor that is required for the automation of the handset.
To power the smartphone there is a 3020 mAh battery without any fast charging support and there is no fingerprint sensor, not the device which can provide added security. The user needs to adjust only with the face unlocking system of the device. The power button along with the volume rockers of the device is placed on the top right side.
