OPPO is rumored to launch the OPPO A5s smartphone as the successor last year’s OPPO A5. While we have seen a few leaks about the device, the company now listed the OPPO A5s on its official website. Though it was listed as OPPO AX5s, the device will be coming to the Asian market as OPPO A5s. While the OPPO A5 came with a wider notch, the new OPPO A5s sports waterdrop notch display. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with ColorOS 5.2 skin laid on top.
Talking about the specifications, it comes with the same 6.2-inch IPS display with HD+ (1520 x 720 pixels) resolution. Under the hood, the device comes powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 octa-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz and includes PowerVR GE8320. There is 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which can be further expandable using the MicroSD card slot. Just like its predecessor, the OPPO A5s also lacks the fingerprint scanner.
Coming to the camera department, the OPPO A5s sports dual camera setup on the rear featuring 13MP primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP secondary depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, there is an 8MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. Last year launched OPPO A5 also came with the same set of cameras. It is backed by a 4,230mAh non-removable battery and lacks fast charging support.
It measures 155.9 x 75.4 x 8.2 mm and weighs 170 grams. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. The device will be available in Red and Black color options without any gradient finish. As of now, there is no information about the pricing or availability of the device. We also expect the company to soon launch this device in the Indian market. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
