OPPO A5s to Launch in India at Rs 9,990 with Waterdrop Display

Last month, the OPPO AX5s listing was spotted on the company’s official website. As expected, the company now launched the same device as OPPO A5s in the Indian market. The company’s latest budget smartphone is priced at Rs 9,990 and will be sold via offline stores across the country. OPPO also partnered with Jio where the OPPO A5s users using Jio 4G SIM can get extra 4G data and discount on unlimited plans. Talking about the OPPO A5s, it is a mere upgrade to the last year’s OPPO A5.  However, the company has priced the new OPPO A5s a bit more aggressively.

It now comes with a 6.2-inch waterdrop notch display with the same HD+ (1520 x 720 pixels) resolution. The device comes powered by the 2.35GHz MediaTek Helio P35 octa-core processor coupled with PowerVR GE8320. It includes 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The device also comes in 3GB and 4GB RAM variants as well. There is also a dedicated MicroSD card slot for further expanding the storage on this device. In terms of optics, the OPPO A5s comes with 13MP + 2MP dual camera setup on the rear with f/2.2 aperture and an 8MP selfie camera on the front with f/2.0 aperture.

Even the OPPO A5 came with the same camera setup. The Indian variant of the OPPO A5s also comes with a fingerprint scanner on the rear of the device. It is backed by a 4,230mAh non-removable battery and comes with 5V/2A (10W) charging input. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 2.4GHz, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. It runs on older Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with ColorOS 5.2 skin laid on top. The device measures 155.9 x 75.4 x 8.2 mm and weighs 170 grams. The OPPO A5s comes in Gold, Green, Red and Black color options.
