OPPO A53 to Launch as OPPO F1 in India on Jan 28th

In recent times, we have seen new sub-brands and series of smartphones from the global and local manufacturers that are targetted towards particular segments. Samsung had up with Galaxy J and Galaxy On series of smartphones targeting the users looking for mid-range and entry-level devices. In the same way, Gionee came with new F- series that features better design and build quality when compared to the other devices at the same price range.

Now, OPPO has announced a new F series devices for the international markets that will feature best camera specifications and features. Speaking on the announcement of this new series,  Sky Li, VP of OPPO said, “We are very excited to introduce the F series, which will allow an even wider range of users from all around the world to experience OPPO’s outstanding photography technology.”

OPPO F1 Launch

The first smartphone under the F series will be OPPO F1 that will be made official in India on January 28th. There are few rumors that the OPPO A53 that was launched recently in China will be renamed as OPPO F1 for the international markets. The device which we exclusively covered was officially announced on November 30th in China with a premium metal body and mid-range specifications.

It is powered by the Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The device features a 5.5-inch 720p display and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with ColorOS 2.1 overlaid. It has a 3,075mAh non-removable battery that supports VOCC fast charging with the provided 5V/2A power adapter.

On the camera part, it has a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and autofocus and a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The dual SIM device also supports 4G LTE and other basic connectivity options. It measures 7.43 mm thick and weighs around 153 grams. The device is priced at 1799 Yuan (approx S277 / Rs. 18,400) in China, and we expect the device to be priced around $300 for international markets.

The official specifications and availability details are expected to be announced at the upcoming CES 2016. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming days.
