OPPO A33 with qHD Display & Snapdragon 410 SoC Launched at $235
In September this year, OPPO A33 was first spotted on TENAA listing. Now the company had officially launched the smartphone in China. Unlike the other entry-level smartphones, the OPPO A33 does come with pretty good design and solid built quality. With the metallic frame around the device, it sports glass on front and rear of the device. It is priced at 1,499 Yuan (approx $235 / Rs. 15,500) and comes with entry-level specifications that are similar to the Redmi 2 Price priced at Rs. 6,999.
This is not the first OPPO smartphone to launch with this kind of pricing, the difference can be identified in the design and build quality of the devices when compared to other devices. Tough the devices priced around Rs.6,000 price range comes with competitive specifications, they all fall behind with the plastic built bodies. If you are one of those users looking for a well-designed device, then OPPO is the one brand to choose. While the specifications and price matters more than design, then are several other offerings like Redmi 2 Prime, YU Yuphoria, Lenovo K3 Note, Coolpad Note 3 that offers much better specification even at a much lower price range.
At Rs. 15,000 price range, you get a 5-inch qHD (960×540) resolution display while the other manufacturers are offering Full HD display at Rs. 10,000. Under the hood is the 64-bit Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. You have 2GB of RAM for multitasking between the apps and 16GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with OPPO’s custom ColorOS 2.1.
According to the listing, the 2,400mAh battery on this device can give up to 8 hours of talk time and lasts up to 250 hours on standby. It has an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera with beautification modes. The dual SIM device offers connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0 port.
The device measures 7.55mm thick and weigh 146 grams. It is available in White and Black colors. Almost at the same price, you can choose the latest OnePlus X that sports similar kind of design and that too with high-end specifications. Currently the OPPO A33 is listed as ‘out-of-stock’ on the official OPPO store. There is information about the launch of this device in the Indian maket.
