Lava Iris Atom 2X with 4.5″ 480P Display, 1GB RAM Launched in India

While coming to the entry-level smartphones, the top Indian manufacturers are falling behind the Chinese manufacturers. In making the devices cheaper, the company’s are bit more compromising over the specifications of the devices. In the last couple of months, we have seen few smartphones launched with 512MB RAM while Intex went ahead and launched the Aqua Wave smartphone with 256MB RAM and 512MB storage.

The latest device continuing the same tradition is the ‘Lava Iris Atom 2X‘ priced at Rs.4,499. While the device sports 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, it comes with very basic specifications required for an Android smartphone. While the devices like YU Yunique, Phicomm Energy 653 and Lenovo A2010 are offering better processors and camera almost similar price range, the Lava Iris Atom 2X lags behind in very department.

It sports a 4.5-inch FWVGA (480×854) display and is powered by a Mediatek MT6735 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. As said earlier, it comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage along with an expandable storage option. It has a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front camera. The device supports dual SIM dual standby but lacks the 4G LTE. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with included bloatware apps.

Connectivity on this device is limited to 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. The removable battery of 2,000mAh battery is what keeps the device powered on. The device measures 134 x 66 x 9.15 mm and weighs 146 grams. It is available in Back and White color options and can be purchased through the offline stores across India starting from Rs. 4,499.
