Oppo A30 Listed on Official Website, Looks Strikingly Similar to OnePlus X
Oppo Mobiles, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has been in the news for its recently launched selfie smartphones, F1 and F1 Plus. Launched as A53 in China, a couple of weeks back, the new F Series of the handset were launched in India late January. Now another new device has been listed on the company’s China website. The device has already got TENNA certification couple of days ago in the country. Though, it hasn’t been listed on the company’s online store where you could buy Oppo smartphones in China. So, the availability and pricing of this device are unknown yet.
The Oppo A30 looks strikingly similar to the OnePlus X, which is company’s smallest handset till date; moreover, the specifications seem like same. The handset in picture sports a 5-inch 1080p display, which is similar to the OPX screen. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset clocking at 2.0 GHz and this seems to be the only thing making it a different handset than OnePlus smartphone. It would be coming with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage while running on the custom Color OS based on the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 version.
In the camera department, the device sports a 13-megapixel image sensor with LED Flash, it has an aperture of f/2.2, while the front-facing module is of 8-megapixel. Regarding connectivity, it would have options like 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, GLONASS and microUSB port. It would be supporting nano SIM card. All this is powered by a 2525 mAh capacity battery.
If you look closely at the images, the arrangement of a capacitive button, earpiece and camera module on the front is same as OnePlus X. As well as the speaker placement in bottom edge and rear camera module placement is exactly similar. What does one make of it? Oppo is copying OnePlus, well, it certainly looks like. It is known for a fact that OnePlus is founded by an ex-OPPO Co-founder, so we can’t know for sure whether there is some kind of deal inked between these two companies regarding the device in question here.
Listed in white color with gold edges, it has a thickness of 6.9mm, height of 140mm, breadth of 69mm and a weight of 138g, which are the exact dimensions of the OnePlus counterpart of the A30. We don’t know what Oppo is hoping to achieve by introducing this handset. But if it comes to other markets, then they may inevitably face copyright infringement issue since OnePlus X was launched entirely months ago than this Oppo handset. Stay tuned in for more updates regarding this story.
