OPPO is getting ready to unveil a new entry-level smartphone called OPPO A1s. The device comes with the model number CPH1925 and recently got certified in Thailand. The OPPO A1s will be the successor to last year’s OPPO A1 smartphone. The device in the leaked images come in Red color and seems to have a matte finish rather than the glossy finish. It sports a waterdrop notch display on the front and dual camera setup on the rear.
While the power button is placed on the right edge, the volume rocker and SIM card slot are on the left edge. The bottom edge houses the 3.5mm audio jack, MicroUSB port, loudspeaker, and a primary microphone. Just like new OPPO Reno smartphones, the OPPO logo and ‘Designed by OPPO’ branding are vertically aligned to the middle of the device. There is no fingerprint scanner on this device. As seen on other low-cost OPPO smartphones, the new OPPO A1s might also settle with just face unlock option.
The OPPO A1k launched a couple of months back in India came with the same waterdrop notch display on the front. Unlike the OPPO A1s, the A1k features a single 8MP camera on the rear. The device sports a 6.1-inch HD+ display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and also included Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It is powered by 12nm MediaTek Helio P22 (MT6762) octa-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
In terms of optics, the A1k came with an 8MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 5MP selfie camera on the front with f/2.0 aperture. It is backed by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery and included all the basic connectivity options. In India, the OPPO A1k is currently retailing for Rs 8,490. Talking about the OPPO A1s, we also expect the company to launch it soon in the Indian market. Even with the dual camera setup, we hope the company prices it aggressively.
