OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro Receive Android Q Developer Beta 2 Update

OnePlus has been pretty significant in rolling out timely updates to its flagship devices. The company has recently rolled out the latest Android Q Beat 2 for its last years’ OnePlus 6 and 6T devices — thanks to Google for offering its latest Android Developer Beta builds for Non-Pixel devices since last year. The flagship devices of OnePlus — the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro receive the second developer beta of Android Q starting today.
Though its the second developer preview of Google’s latest Android Q, it is expected to be less buggy than the first beta, which released for the flagship devices — a week after the release last month. While the first beta had several known issues according to Oneplus that included the ambient display and system stability issues, there were other navigation and VoLTE issues as well. Further, it also had few app issues and recovery mode not operating issues as well.
With the second beta of Android Q, there are other new known issues as well, for instance, the display mode and the reading mode appear to be not working along with the lower probability of having stability issues as well. Needless to say, this is the developers’ preview for developers to make sure their apps work perfectly for Android Q’s full release this fall alongside the new Pixel 4 devices.
If you’re a Oneplus 7/7 Pro and are already on the first beta of android Q then you can install this OTA right away, if you’re new to flashing firmware, we would recommend not to flash on your daily driver since there would be several bugs, and it will indeed be unstable sometimes. Check out the procedure of flashing the latest Android Q beta on your OnePlus 7 or OnePlus 7 Pro here on the OnePlus’ official community forum.
