OnePlus 5 & OnePlus 5T Confirmed to Get Android Q Update with Latest Oxygen OS Features

Earlier this month, OnePlus rolled out the Android 9.0 Pie update for the three-year-old OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T smartphones. However, the company still faced a huge backlash for delaying the update for over six months. Today, the company has promised the Andriod Q update for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T smartphones. As of now, there is no ETA mentioned for the rollout of the update. Looking at the company’s previous update timeline, it will prioritize the latest Android updates for the newly launched devices.

The new OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro will obviously be the first OnePlus devices to get the Android Q update. We expect the OnePlus 5 and 5T smartphones to get the Android Q update by the end of this year or early 2020. The company already confirmed the OnePlus 5 and 5T smartphones to get the RAM Boost. The new OnePlus 7 smartphones come with a Fnatic Mode, Zen Mode, built-in Screen Recorder, and more. With the Fnatic Mode, the device will offer enhanced performance and boosted network speed while playing games.

The Zen Mode will help the OnePlus users to disconnect from the digital world for 20 minutes. The OnePlus 5T is the first OnePlus smartphone to embrace the fullview display with the 18:9 aspect ratio. Both the OnePlus 5 and 5T smartphones are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform and offer up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. The devices were launched with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box and recently updated to Android 9.0 Pie-based Oxygen OS 9.0. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
