The Virtual Reality scene has a long way to go, when it comes to viewing 3D content and experiencing gaming. There are some excellent VR headsets already available though, but for the beginners, those cardboard kits from Google were good enough to understand how it works. OnePlus, the smartphone manufacturer that gained quite the attention it needed for its smartphone, is interestingly going to air the launch of its next flagship on VR.

The Cardboard headset to hold the phone was available from Google, but everyone is good at the DIY stuff, and get stuck while assembling it. But with something as cool as a launch happening with this experience, people might now want to try it out. OnePlus is also making the cardboard kit, named the OnePlus Cardboard 2.0, and it will be selling them, for what looks like a loss for the company.

The Cardboard 2.0 is being made with almost all the norms and specs that were given at Google I/O 2015, and the design is a little modified, with the velcro strapped around thick material for extra durability. The size would be about 20% smaller than the other standard cardboard models, but it still will be able to hold phones with 6-inch screen size.

Accd. to OnePlus, this has a dirt and oil repellant coating, and the forehead stains will also avoided. And the fact that you can use any smartphone to view content using the cardboard, it is a cool accessory to get.

When and where will OnePlus Cardboard 2.0 be available?

Rs. 99 + shipping (charged by Amazon India) is what you are getting the cardboard for, if you reside in India. The sale would begin from the third week of July, and we’ll be updating this page whenever it goes on sale.

Meanwhile, the OnePlus 2 is going to launch on July 27th, and there are a few things we already know about the upcoming device, thanks to the few teasers from the company.
