Earlier this year, Nubia came up with a new sub-brand called Redmagic to join the gaming smartphone bandwagon. The first smartphone under this new brand is called Red Magic and was first launched in China. Later, the company has chosen the crowdsourcing path to bring the Red Magic smartphone to the international markets. While the device packs all the essential features to attract the gamers, it failed to compete with other gaming smartphones on the spec sheet.
Though there is a largely LED strip on the rear along with a specially designed cooling system, it is powered by the last-gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Black Shark and Asus ROG Gaming Phone are packed with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform. According to the renowned leakster Roland Quandt, the company is now gearing up to launch the second-gen gaming smartphone later this year.
However, the company is said to launch the upcoming Red Magic 2 with the Snapdragon 845 chipset. While there is not much information about this device, it is said to sport dedicated shoulder buttons for better mobile gaming. I personally feel better clicking than tapping while playing games. The physical buttons will always be satisfying for the gamers. You can also order a pair of attachable shoulder buttons for your smartphone from the Chinese resellers for a couple of dollars.
