Nokia 9 Pureview with Penta-lens Camera Could Launch in India on June 6th

At the MWC 2019, HMD Global has officially unveiled the Nokia 9 Pureview Smartphone. While it was rumored to launch in India in the month of April, no official announcement came from the company. Now, the company has scheduled a launch event for June 6th where it is expected to announce the pricing and availability details of the Nokia 9 Pureview for the Indian market. Even though the device with a Penta-lens camera setup on the rear, several users have complained about the camera app issues.

Also, the device lacks OIS support for any of the five camera sensors. It actually comes with 2x 12MP RGB sensors and 3x 12MP Monochrome sensors with f/1.82 aperture and ZEISS optics. According to the company, these 5 sensors will help the device in collecting up to 10 times the amount of light compared to the single-camera smartphones. Unlike other flagship smartphones, there is no ultra-wide-angle sensor or a telephoto sensor.

Talking about the other specifications, the Nokia 9 Pureview comes with a 5.99-inch OLED display with Quad HD+ (2560 × 1440 pixels) resolution and supports HDR10 playback. With the 18:9 aspect ratio, the device comes with thick bezels on the top and bottom of the display. The company added Corning Gorilla  Glass 5 protection on the front and back. Under the hood, it features the last-gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform. It comes packed with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

There is no MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage. For selfies, the Nokia 9 Pureview sports a 20MP camera on the front. It is backed by a 3,320mAh non-removable battery and support fast charging and also wireless charging. The device also comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner and supports face unlock using the front-facing camera. Just like other Nokia smartphones, the Nokia 9 Pureview also joins Android One family. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box.

The Nokia 9 Pureview comes with 3 mics for OZO audio spatial recording. It is also IP67 certified for the water and dust resistance. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, and USB Type-C. There is no 3.5mm audio jack on this device.
