Nokia 5 with 5.2″ HD Display & 3000mAh Battery to go on Sale from August 15th

Back in June, Nokia under HMD Global launched the Android powered Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6 smartphones in the Indian market. The Nokia 5 priced at Rs. 12,899 is said to be sold via retail outlets across the country. Now, the company has confirmed the device to go on sale from tomorrow, i.e., August 15th. The Amazon exclusive Nokia 6 comes with a price tag of Rs. 14,999 and the first sale is scheduled for August 23rd. Talking about the Nokia 5, the device will be initially sold in Matte Black color. The Silver, Blue, and Copper color variants will be only available in the coming weeks.

The Nokia 5 users are also eligible to get 5GB of 4G data for three months on Vodafone for just Rs. 149 per month. It comes with an Aluminum body with a 2.5 curved glass on the front. The device sports a 5.2-inch display on the front that offers HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. It also comes protected by Corning Gorilla Glass on the front. Under the hood is the 64-bit Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz and comes coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. There is also 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be expandable up to 128GB via a MicroSD card slot.

It runs on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box and with slightly tweaked UI laid on top. In terms of optics, the Nokia 5 sports a 13MP sensor on the rear with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, and dual tone LED flash. For selfies, there is an 8MP autofocus camera on the front with f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree wide-angle lens. The physical home button beneath the display also houses the fingerprint sensor. It is backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery that can give at least day long battery life. It measures 149.7 x 72.5 x 8.05 mm and weighs 159 grams.

The power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge of the device. It also packs TFA9891 amplifier for better sound output. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, USB OTG, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. In terms of specifications, the Nokia 8 has to face stiff competition from the several Chinese branded smartphones.
