Initially Nokia introduced Nokia X5 in Taiwan and later the Global variant was announced which was dubbed as Nokia 5.1 Plus which made to India as well as other markets. The device was said to be receiving Android Pie operating system but there was no time frame mentioned. Now, the Chief Product Officer at HMD – Juho Sarvikas has hinted that the device will be receiving the update by the end of 2018. According to HMD, the Nokia 5.1 Plus will be receiving major OS updates for the next two years along with security updates for next three years.
The spokesperson said that, he would be surprised of the Nokia 5.1 Plus does not receive the latest OS by the end of the year but still has not mention any specific time frame. The Android 9.0 Pie update is being rolled to the Nokia 7 Plus device and considering that up date, we can expect similar change logs on the Nokia 5.1 Plus also. The update bought changes like Digital Wellbeing, Do Not Disturb Mode, Adaptive Battery, Adaptive Brightness and also Ai predictions of applications with system navigation.
Coming to the Nokia 5.1 Plus, the device came out of the box with Android. 8.1 Oreo operating system and was available in 3GB / 32GB variants as well as 4GB / 64GB variant. There is a Mediatek Helio P60 SoC on this handset coupled with Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. It comes with 5.86-inch of display with IPLS LCD screen. There is a 13MP rear facing sensor with PDAF and also a secondary 5MP depth sensor camera with LED flash and few more features.
On the front, we can find a 8MP camera with f/2.2 aperture size and has a fingerprint sensor on the rear along with a non-removable battery of 3060 mAh.
