Last month, HMD Global unveiled three smartphones including the Nokia 5.1 (a.k.a Nokia 5 2018) in Russia. The company also seems to bring in a new smartphone called Nokia 5.1 Plus. The CAD renders of the Nokia 5.1 Plus are now leaked and it looks similar to the Nokia X6. The Nokia X6 is the company’s first ever smartphone with a notch display. Till date, the Nokia X6 is only limited to the Chinese market.
Just like Nokia X6, the Nokia 5.1 Plus also comes with the notch display and dual camera setup on the rear. However, we can clearly distinguish between both the devices. The notch on the Nokia 5.1 Plus looks much bigger than the one on the Nokia X6. The large camera strip on the rear sports dual camera sensors along with a LED flash. Just below that, we can also find the circular fingerprint sensor.
Both the power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge. While the 3.5mm audio jack is placed on the top edge, the USB Type-C port is on the bottom edge. The device will be coming with the metal frame and glass body. It measures 149.5 x 71.9 x 8 mm, which makes it slightly larger than the Nokia X6. While there is no confirmation, it is mentioned to sport 5.7-inch display and MediaTek Helio P23 processor.
As of now, we don’t have any more information about this device. We expect it to make an official debut at the upcoming IFA 2018 in early September. The recently launched Nokia 5.1 came with an aluminum unibody design. It is an Android One device and runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. It sports a 5.5-inch Full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
Under the hood is the all-new MediaTek Helio P18 octa-core processor coupled with 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage. In terms of optics, there is a 16MP rear camera with PDAF and an 8MP front camera with 84.6-degree wide-angle lens. It comes in Sanding Copper, Temper Blue, and Black color options. While the Nokia 5.1 Plus is expected to go official in September, the Nokia 5.1 will be on sale starting next month.
