A few months back, there are a few leaks about the Mi 9 Lite smartphone. However, there is no word from the company about this new device. Now, a new Xiaomi smartphone with the model number M1904F3BC got listed on TENAA. While the full specifications are yet to be added, the listing included the images which revealed the first look of this unknown Xiaomi smartphone. A few Chinese websites mentioned the M1904F3BC to be officially launched as Mi 9 Lite (a.k.a Mi 9 Youth) in the next few weeks.
The design of the rumored Mi 9 Lite looks similar to the Mi 9 smartphone. It comes with a glass back body with curved edges on all four sides. While the Mi 9 came with Mi logo on the bottom rear, the Mi 9 Lite comes with a vertical Xiaomi logo. The protruding triple camera setup and dual LED flash are remained intact in the same location. Coming to the front, it sports the same waterdrop notch display. Unlike the Mi 9, there is no dedicated AI button on the left edge.
The power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge. The listing also mentioned the device to sport 6.39-inch display and we expect it to offer Full HD+ resolution. It will be backed by a 3,900mAh non-removable battery and measures 156.8 × 74.5 × 8.67 mm. The device supports dual SIM dual standby but there will be no MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. While Xiaomi is already working on MIUI 11, the Mi 9 Lite will still come with Android 9.0 Pie-based MIUI 10 out of the box.
Based on the leaks, the Mi 9 Lite will mostly come powered by the Snapdragon 700 series chipset. In terms of optics, we will be looking at a 48MP triple camera setup on the rear and a 32MP selfie camera on the front. While the flagship Mi 9 smartphone came with telephoto and ultra-wide-angle lens combination, the Mi 9 Lite might come with ultra-wide-angle and depth sensors.
