The China-based Mobvoi is one of the very few brands to launch decent Wear OS-powered smartwatches. In mid-2018, the company launched the dual-screen TicWatch Pro smartwatch featuring both AMOLED and LCD screens. Now, the company accidentally revealed to soon launch a new TicWatch Pro smartwatch. As per the image spotted on the company’s website, the company might launch the LTE variant of the TicWatch Pro for Verizon users. Last year, Verizon launched its own smartwatch with LTE support called Verizon Wear 24.
Even the LTE-compatible LG Watch Sport was said to be made available on Verizon network, but it was later canceled after several delays. Now, the new TicWatch Pro will the latest smartwatch with cellular connectivity to be made available by Verizon. The company is yet to reveal any details of its upcoming smartwatch. We can expect them to soon announce the launch date for this new product. While Verizon will be exclusively selling the new TicWatch Pro in the US, we expect the company also sells this new LTE variant in other markets as well.
As seen with the other LTE smartwatches, the upcoming TicWatch Pro will also come with the eSIM technology. We also expect Mobvoi to continue using the same dual-screen display for extended battery life. With the Essential Mode, the AMOLED display and Wear OS will get shut down. It gives up to 30 days of battery life and only features time, date, heart rate, and steps. The original TicWatch Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 SoC and packs 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage.
It also features a PPG heart rate sensor and supports NFC for enabling Google Pay. The TicWatch Pro is also IP68 certified for water and dust resistance. Apart from the cellular connectivity, the new TicWatch Pro might also come with upgraded hardware like the new Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 SoC. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
