New OPPO A9 with Helio P70 SoC is Expected to Launch by the end of this month: Report

OPPO India teased its upcoming mid-range smartphone — the OPPO K3 on Amazon India. The company released the same device in China last month. The OPPO K3 features a 6.5-inch display and is powered by a Snapdragon 710 SoC. While the launch OPPO K3 is imminent in a couple of days, there’s a new report suggesting another mid-range smartphone is up for launch by the end of this month.

According to The Mobile Indian report, OPPO is set to launch its new ‘A’ series smartphone — the OPPO A9 in the country and is said to be sold as an offline model. Citing sources familiar with the new OPPO device launch, the report has further revealed that the OPPO A9 would be priced around Rs 16,000 for its 4GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage variant.

As for the specifications deets, the OPPO A9 would be featuring a 6.5-inch FHD+ display that is said to achieve a screen-to-body-ratio of 90.7%. The display will be featuring a waterdrop notch design to behold the front-facing camera, which will be further protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. A MediaTek Helio P70 SoC will power the OPPO A9 with Mali-G72 GPU. As aforementioned, the device packs in 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, which can further be expanded via microSD for up to 256GB.

The report moreover reveals what to expect from the upcoming OPPO A9 device — it will be featuring a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for authentication, and as for the cameras, the A9 will have a dual rear camera setup featuring 16MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. Up front, it will have an AI-powered 16MP selfie shooter.

Further, the device is said to be kept alive by a 4020mAh battery, and considerably, it will be running on ColorOS, which is Android 9.0 Pie-based. There isn’t any official information on the launch of the new OPPO A9 from the company yet.
