Huawei P30 Pro is one of best premium flagship smartphones launched in 2019. While the device globally unveiled in March this year, the company launched it in the Indian market in April. The Huawei P30 Pro is priced at Rs 71,990 and it packs the best cameras we have ever seen on a smartphone. With the 90 days reprieval period, the company can still work with Google until next month for releasing OTA updates for its devices. However, the future of the device after August 19th is still an unsolved mystery as of now.

This week, the company started rolling out a new EMUI 9.1.0.178 update for the Huawei P30 Pro smartphone. It brings quite a few new features across Camera, System, Display, and Settings. The new OTA update also fixes a few bugs. We expect the company to roll out the new OTA update in batches to all the Huawei P30 Pro smartphones across the globe. However, the Huawei P30 Pro users can also manually check for the OTA update by going to Settings > Systems > About Phone.

Here is the changelog of the new EMUI 9.1.0.178 update for the Huawei P30 Pro:

  • Adds the DC dimming mode, preventing screen flickering.
  • Adds Huawei’s ultra-low latency Bluetooth technology, allowing for high-quality sound and no-lag audio and video syncing, providing a thrilling listening and viewing experience.
  • Improves photo quality, making colors appear more natural and authentic. Fixes the abnormal display of videos recorded by the front camera.
  • Adds the option to enroll a second face.
  • Optimizes fingerprint authentication. Re-enroll your fingerprints for an improved user experience.
  • Fixes the issue where the display colors are abnormal in certain scenarios. Allows for messages and notifications to display on a locked screen with live wallpaper.
  • Fixes the issue where the screen does not turn off automatically in certain scenarios. Optimizes system stability, for smoother overall performance.

To enable the DC dimming mode, the users can see the option in Settings > Display > Eye comfort. We have seen the DC dimming feature coming to several other flagship smartphones in 2019. Also, the company now improved the color reproduction of the AMOLED display on the Huawei P30 Pro. The users also need to re-enroll their fingerprints to experience the optimized fingerprint authentication. Now, the Huawei P30 Pro device also got an option to enroll a second face for unlocking it using the face unlock feature. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
