Netflix Launches Rs. 199 Mobile-Only Monthly Plan in India

Netflix has been testing cheaper monthly subscription for mobiles phone in India and last week it also announced that it will be rolling out a new low-priced mobile-only plan for the Indian market. Now Netflix has officially launched the mobile-only plan for India at Rs. 199 per month. The company says it “Made for India” where mobile devices are increasingly driving consumption.
This is Netflix’s fourth plan in India that also include the basic, standard and premium plans of Rs. 499, Rs. 649 and Rs. 799 respectively. Furthermore, this mobile-only plan will be allowing its users to watch Netflix content on only one mobile and one tablet at a time in 480p (SD) quality. The company has also confirmed that this mobile plan will work abroad as well and Netflix users in India will be able to watch more on their mobiles than members anywhere else in the world and are among the hight downloaders of content globally.
As mentioned this plan will work only on mobile devices and to sign up for the plan, the user needs to download the Netflix app or can also visit the Netflix website. Then the user needs to select the mobile plan for Rs. 199 every month which will be going live today. The users will also be getting the first month free for new members.
