Motorola X Force Shatterproof Smartphone Coming to India on February 1

Update, January 22: Motorola had been teasing about the launch of Moto X Force in the country since last week. Now we have the date, its February 1, the company has sent out the official media invites stating the event would be hosted in Gurgaon. The brand is quite eager to launch its shatterproof handset in the country, and we are expecting some demos for that as they did with Moto G Second Generation, the waterproof test on stage. Earlier, January 19: The smartphone market in India is going to turn up a heat before summer hits the country. After launches like LeEco Le Max, Honor 5X, Oppo F1 and Asus Zenfone Zoom scheduled to launch in the coming days in January, it is more than likely that more brands would participate in the heating competition. Motorola, now a Lenovo company is going to introduce their much awaited Shatterproof smartphone in India. The launch date is yet to be announced, but with series of teaser posted by Motorola, India made us all excited about the device.

Moto X Force - India Launch Invite

The teaser video posted by brand comes with a caption, “Are you one amongst 40 percent people who are deathly scared of dropping their phones?”. In the video, people are seen dropping handsets like Samsung Galaxy S6, iPhone 6s and Sony Xperia Z5 with the sound of shattering their screens. The smartphone which was announced in the United States last year has been reportedly tested by many experts, and the results were pretty excellent as the device holds on to the title given my its company.

Motorola India conducted an event quite a while back where they demoed the shatterproof display of the smartphone. Launched as the Moto Droid Turbo 2, successor to the Droid Turbo, first 2K Display smartphone from the company, the international name of Turbo 2 is X Force and by that the handset is going to be launched in the country very soon. I’m sure all the sloppy smartphone users couldn’t wait to get their hands on this handset as they part away with the worries of dropping their smartphone.

The X Force would be sporting a 5.4-inch AMOLED “ShatterShiled” display and can reported survive the falls from quite high heights. You can check our post to learn more about the technology used and a video demonstration where the phone suffers a numerous falls and even got run over by the bicycle and put under the horse’s hoof. Talking about the display resolution, it has a Quad HD (2560 x 1440) resolution that means a pixel density of whooping 540 PPI (Pixel Per Inch), moreover, it has a water-repellent coating, so you don’t also have to worry about accidentally spilling water on it.

Under the hood is the Snapdragon 810 chipset, which an Octa-core processor and currently one of the most powerful processors. Alongside is the Adreno 430 GPU for graphics processing, while further support the multitasking is the 3GB of RAM and options to opt for 32GB or 64GB internal storage. Don’t worry, if the storage is not sufficient for your needs, then you can expand using microSD card slot.

The device is going to run on the latest version of the Android Lollipop 5.1 with almost no customization as usually found on the Moto phones. Other interesting sets of features includes a 21-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture and PDAF, a 5-megapixel image sensor with flash and f/2.0 aperture as well. It is going to have a support of 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS and other standard connectivity features. The Moto X Force was launched at $624, which is approximately Rs 42,254, so we estimate it would be priced around 40K.
