Moto X4 Gets Android 9.0 Pie, Update Rolling Out to Users in India

After a year of the launch of the Moto X4 in India, it finally receives an Android 9.0 Pie update. As promised by the parent company Lenovo earlier this year, the Android Pie rollout has now started for some of its users. Despite being the mid-range device, Motorola’s support for its year-old smartphones seems to be commendable as the Moto X4 had launched with Android 7.1 out-of-the-box.
Moto X4 users will soon receive an OTA (Over-the-air) update on their devices, and the update file size appears to be around 1.15Gb that comes with a PPW29.69-17 build number. Users can start checking for the update in the Settings of their Moto X4 devices. Keep in mind that this update is most likely a phased rollout, which means the new 9.0 Pie update rolls out based on users’ regions.
As for the new features concerned, Android 9.0 Pie update brings the much-anticipated Digital Wellbeing feature with which, a user can keep an eye on his mobile addiction through his daily apps’ activity. The other features include App Actions, App Slices, and Adaptive Battery, etc.
Since Motorola has held to its commitment about the devices getting the Android Pie update, we can expect other Moto devices like Motorola One, Motorola One Power, Moto Z3, Moto Z3 Play, Moto Z3 Force, Moto Z2, Moto G6, Moto G6 Play, and Moto G6 Plus to receive the Android 9.0 Pie update soon.
