Lenovo has recently launched the all new Moto Z and Moto Z Force with modular capabilities. While everyone expected the company to replace the Moto X with Moto Z devices, but later the Lenovo officials hinted about the launch of the Moto X 2016 devices. Now a new device with the model number XT1662 is listed on Geekbench revealing the important specifications. As usual, the company is offering the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with the Moto X 2016.
Interestingly, the company opted for the MediaTek chipset instead of Snapdragon and this will also be the first Moto device to use MediaTek chipset. The device sports a Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display and comes powered Helio P10 octa-core processor clocked at 2.1GHz. Though the display is mentioned to be 4.6-inches, we guess the device to feature at least 5-inches. It has 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There is no information about the availability of the MicroSD card slot for storage expansion.
Talking about the camera, it has a 16MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP selfie camera on the front. While the Moto Z Force came with a 21MP rear camera, the Moto Z is limited to just 13MP resolution. Both the Moto Z devices are equipped with a 5MP sensor which is less than what Moto X Force is rumored to come up with. As earlier Lenovo said to offer fingerprint sensor with every Moto device in 2016, we guess it to be featured on this device as well.
Last year the company launched the Moto X Play, Moto X Style, and Moto X Force. with the Moto X Force, the company introduced the shattershield display which includes Aluminum chassis, AMOLED, dual touch screen panels, and dual lens on top. Even the company also offered 4 years shatterproof warranty for the Moto X Force. While the Moto Z Force also comes with the same display technology, we guess one variant of Moto X 2016 devices to feature the same Shattershield display.
