In the year 2016, Meizu has announced 3 smartphones already called Meizu M3, M3 Note and PRO 6, which is the only high-end offering by the company. Interestingly, it was leaked that the company will also announce the PRO 6 Plus on 30th June of this year. But now a new source claims that the Meizu MX6 is expected to launch this month, 20th to be precise. This device will be a successor to the MX5 and is expected to pack good internals.
According to a China based source, this new device will be priced at 1,799 Yuan ($273) with a great power for the price underneath it. It will be fueled by MediaTek’s Helio X25 64-bit deca-core chipset and ship in 2 variants with 3GB and 4GB of RAM with 32GB and 64GB internal storage option respectively. The source also claims that it will feature a pressure sensitive display with a FullHD resolution of 1980 x1080 pixels, but the display size is unknown at this point.
It will sport a 20.7 megapixel rear facing camera and an 8-megapixel front facing selfie shooter. The phone is also said to pack in a massive 4,000 mAh battery which will easily last more then a day with moderate usage. This smartphone will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow based Flyme OS out of the box. This new device is expected to rock a metal uni-body chassis design having some design resemblance from it’s previous versions.Again no official wording on this, but the 2 variants are expected to be priced at around $275 – $305 as mentioned earlier.
These rumors are tipped in the last minute but the image below shows the retail packaging of the device which makes it look like the launch date is nearby. The Meizu MX5 was announced back in July last year, but if this rumor is to be trusted, its successor will see the light of day very soon. Stay tuned for more updates on the same as we update with more details once the device is officially launched.
