The Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus smartphones from Lenovo are expected to launch at the upcoming MWC 2017 press event scheduled for February 26th. These two devices will be the successors to the popular Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus smartphones. While there are already numerous leaks about both the devices, now we got the latest information about the Moto G5 Plus. The device which we will be discussing below is sent to a local telecom operator in Brazil for network testing. However, the earlier rumors mentioned the Moto G5 Plus to come with a 5.5-inch display. While the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus smartphones came with a 5.5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, the below mentioned Moto G5 Plus is said to feature a slightly smaller 5.2-inch display with the same Full HD resolution.

Under the hood, the device packs an unspecified octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz; we expect this to be a Snapdragon 625 SoC. It comes with dual SIM dual standby supports and accepts only the nano SIM cards. The variant in the Brazil also comes with Digital TV tuner for receiving the over-the-air signals for free. In the camera department, there is a 12MP Sony IMX362 sensor on the rear that comes with Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and f/1.7 aperture. It can even record 4K resolution videos at 30fps. For selfies, there is a 5MP OmniVision OV5695 sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The 16MP sensor on the Moto G4 Plus is one of the best cameras we have seen in the budget smartphone segment in 2016. The device runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with minor tweaks to stock Android experience.

The square shaped fingerprint sensor is now replaced with a big oval shaped sensor. As the device also comes with NFC support, it can be used for the mobile payment services like Android Pay. The Moto G5 Plus comes backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery, and with the Turbo Charging support, it can be charged faster than other devices. On the back of the device, we will be seeing a Moto dimple along with a large circular camera module as seen on the Moto Z series. The curved edges around the device give nice support to hold on to the device for longer durations. Talking about the Moto G5 smartphone, the device will be sporting a 5-inch Full HD Display. It comes powered by Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor. The device also includes a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera.

Since the MWC is just a few weeks away, we will be seeing even more leaks in the coming days. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
