Most of the major companies are now concentrating on capturing the evolving Smartwatch market, and the smaller companies are not far behind in developing great devices with unique designs and features as well. With Android already capturing the early market with Android Wear and Samsung and LG releasing multiple wearable products, the competition is only going to get better with Apple also releasing its product – iWatch later this year. Coming to Moment Smartwatch that is a unique and great design which caught our attention because of its futuristic design, and the features are also pretty awesome.
The design aspect of Moment is the best feature of this device which comes in the first of its kind complete wrap around smartwatch, which is supposed to be worn around your wrist, and the device will be sporting a 360-degree touch surface all around your wrist. The touch surface area of the device will be two halves each measuring 32mm x 100mm. And the display will be sporting a full QWERTY keyboard on the display on which the key size is kept at 5mm x 5mm which is pretty comfortable being a Smartwatch. The design is very neat and futuristic with a Black on Black color theme with the display also sporting 16 shades of grey. The clock face is color customizable. Overall it is a stylish smartwatch with a high-quality feel to it coming in black and white and can be customized to display analog or digital watch on its display.
Features and Specifications
The Moment wrap around smartwatch will be sporting a 1.73” display with 150 DPI electrophoretic display having 320 x 240 pixels display resolutions which have 16 shades of gray. It runs on TI Tiva C Series ARM Cortex M4 processor; it also has nine axis digital monitor sensor along with multi-point; gesture enabled 360-degree touch interface. The device can be connected to other devices using the Dual mode Bluetooth and Bluetooth smart which utilizes low energy.
The company promises a 30 day battery life with the help of the 820mAhr battery; it has IP67 rating that will protect it from your daily usage. It runs on the Sleepwear interface and has a vibration motor which will be useful to alert your with vibration in the case of notifications. The display can display several notifications like incoming calls, text messages, emails, phone books. The main menu has many apps like PowerPoint, camera, gameplay, music control, etc. The camera app lets you control your smartphone camera through your smartwatch.
Pricing and Availability
The exact release date of the device is not yet decided as it is still in its prototype stage but the pricing of the device is starting from $99 in the kickstarter.com website. And the pledges are going all the way to $189, and as the goal of $100,000, has been crossed by a long margin it will surely be into production. And the company will be delivering the product in December 2014.
