Micromax Canvas Nitro 2 launched in India, with 5-inch HD display, octa-core processor

Micromax has launched a successor to one of its very successful devices, the Canavs Nitro, with the Canvas Nitro 2 E-311 smartphone officially launched for the price of Rs. 10,990. Putting a focus not only on the specs side, the company seems to have brought a device that is better at looks as well. The Canvas Nitro 2 is 7.5mm thick, compared to the 9.3mm thickness of Canvas Nitro.
The Canvas Nitro 2 has a 5-inch HD display, with the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood, is a Mediatek 1.4 GHz octa-core processor (probably MT6592M) along with 2GB of DDR3 RAM. The device has a 16GB internal storage, and a MicroSD card slot for expansion up to 32GB.
On the back, there is a 13-megapixel camera with Sony IMX135 CMOS sensor and F/2.2 aperture and a wide-angle 28mm lens. It is a 5P lens with Schott Blue Glass filter, and the camera is capable of recording 1080p videos. The device has a 5-megapixel BSI camera with OV5648 Sensor, F/2.4 aperture and 22mm wide-angle lens, and a 75-degree viewing scope.
The Nitro 2 runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS, with some pre-installed apps including App center, ASKME, Chaatz, PayTM, Clean Master, Hotstar, MAd, Quickr, Snapdeal, Opera Mini, Saavn, Dr. Safety and Truecaller. The OS features include Hangouts for video calling, smart contact prioritization, Google drive and even Voice search. A few gesture features are included as well, such as pinch-in, pinch-out and Double finger swipe.
There is a 2400 mAh battery packed in, and the connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The smartphone priced at Rs. 10,990 will be available in Moondust Grey and Pristine White color options. The Moondust Grey one comes with a smooth moondust finish.
