Micromax is long rumored to launch the successor to the Canvas Infinity smartphone. The Canvas Infinity launched in August this year is the company’s first-ever smartphone with an 18:9 display. During its launch time, the Canvas Infinity is also the most affordable 18:9 smartphone in India. Almost a month ago, we have seen the leaked image of the retail box of the Canvas Infinity Pro revealing few key specifications. Today, the company has officially launched the Canvas Infinity Pro smartphone in the Indian market for Rs. 13,999.

While the Canvas Infinity is exclusively sold through Amazon India, the newly launched Canvas Infinity Pro will be available exclusively on Flipkart starting December 6th midnight. The device comes with the same 5.7-inch HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Compared to other high-end 18:9 smartphones, the Canvas Infinity devices come with slightly bigger bezels around the display. There is also a 2.5D curved glass on top of the display. Under the hood is the 64-bit Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz.

It comes coupled with Adreno 505 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The device also includes 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a MicroSD card. The major changes between the two Canvas Infinity devices can be found in the camera department. The Canvas Infinity Pro sports a 16MP camera on the rear with LED Flash. For selfies, there is a 20MP + 8MP dual camera setup on the front with software features like portrait mode, face beauty mode, auto scene detection, face gallery, and tale album.

On the other hand, the selfie-centric smartphones like Vivo V7 and OPPO F5 are now only offering a single front-facing camera, that too at a higher price tag. Just like the Canvas Infinity, the Pro variant also runs on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. There is also a fingerprint sensor placed on the rear of the device. The Canvas Infinity Pro also comes with a slightly bigger 3,000mAh non-removable battery. According to the company, the battery on this device is rated to give up to 20 hours of talk time and lasts up to 420 hours on standby.

Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB OTG, 3.5mm Audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. It will be available only in Black color option. The earlier launched Canvas Infinity came with Snapdragon 425 SoC, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage.
