Micromax Canvas Fire 4G with Quad-Core Processor & 1GB RAM Launched For Rs.6,999

India’s second largest smartphone manufacturer Micromax in partnership with chipmaker MediaTek has introduced a new 4G-LTE smartphone named Canvas Fire 4G. Today the company has officially launched the device in the market for Rs.6,999 and will be available across India via online and offline stores. It is the first Micromax device to run on  the 64-bit MediaTek MT6735 that is a 4G compliant processor.

Commenting on the launch, Vineet Taneja, CEO, Micromax Informatics said, “We have always endeavoured to offer products based on certain needs of the consumer. Moving forward, we will lead the 4G adoption in the country by converting all our attractive value Canvas series to 4G. Canvas Fire 4G is the first in a series of such launches.”

Coming to its specifications, Canvas Fire 4G sports a 4.5-inch WVGA (854 x 480) display offering a pixel density of 218ppi. As earlier said, it will come powered by 64-bit MediaTek MT6735 octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz. It has 1GB RAM, 8GB built-in storage and microSD card support for storage expansion upto 32GB.

On the camera front, it features a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front-facing camera for video calling and selfie clicks. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box and has dual sim dual standby support. The device will also sport dual front-facing speakers similar to Canvas Fire 3. Connectivity on this handset includes 4G-LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB 2.0.

Micromax has also revealed that it will launch a smartphone with MediaTek’s Helio X10 processor. This is the same processor that used in Meizu MX5 priced at Rs.19,999 and HTC One ME that was priced at Rs.42,900. The recently Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 that was priced at $128 also used the same Helio X10 processor.

As announced earlier, the company has launched three smartphones with 4G LTE connectivity. Apart from Canvas Fire 4G, the other two devices are Canvas Play 4G and Canvas Blaze 4G. A quick recall Micromax recently launched the Canvas Nitro 4G with an octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, and 4G LTE connectivity for Rs. 10,430.
