Meizu M5 Note with 5.5″ Full HD Display & 4000mAh Battery Launched in China

After several rumors and leaks, Meizu has finally launched its latest affordable smartphone, Meizu M5 Note today in China. This is the first time, the company is launching two iterations of the M series devices in a single year. In the first half of 2016, the company launched the Meizu M3, M3 Note, and M3E smartphones. Recently, the company launched the Meizu M5 smartphone and now it came with the larger M5 Note smartphone. Meizu also announced that it had sold more than 20 million Note smartphones in the M series including the M1 Note, M2 Note, and M3 Note. Though there are rumors that the M5 Note will be coming with a polycarbonate body and the M5 Note Metal is said to feature a metal body, the company launched only the M5 Note and that too it sports an all metal body.
Just like the earlier M-series devices, the M5 Note also comes with a slight curve on the rear that offers a nice grip to hold on to the device. Talking about the specifications, it sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display with a 2.5D glass laid on top. Under the hood is the MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor coupled with Mali T860 GPU. While rumors suggested the device to come with Helio P20, at least the company might have opted the recently announced Helio P15 SoC instead of last years Helio P10. It will be available in 3GB and 4GB RAM variant with 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB storage options. There is also a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion upto 128GB. On the camera front, there is a 13MP rear camera with PDAF, f/2.2 aperture, and LED flash. The M5 Note measures 153.6 x 75.8 x 8.1 mm and weighs 175 grams.
For selfies, the M5 Note comes with 5MP fixed focus front camera with f/2.0 aperture and ArcSoft adaptive algorithm technology. It is backed by a 4,000 non-removable battery that can give more than a day of battery life. The device is equipped with an 18W power adapter that is said to charge the battery 0% to 100% in just 90 minutes. The fingerprint sensor equipped in the mBack home button also support mobile payments through AliPay and WeChat. The device can be unlocked in just 0.2 seconds from sleep. The device runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with the latest Flyme 6 OS out of the box. It supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G VoLTE out of the box. Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS, A-GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0 port.
Now the newly launched M5 Note comes in Gray, Silver, Gold and Blue color options. The device is priced at 899 Yuan for 3GB RAM variant with 16GB of storage where the 32GB storage variant costs 999 yuan. The high-end variant of M5 Note with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage is priced at 1499 yuan. The device will be available for registrations starting today, and the sales start from December 8th via JD.com and Meizu store.
