Meizu always amazes the smartphone lovers with its stylish design phones. With an affordable pricing and high-specifications, it manages to attract a good number of users. Ever since it started the Android-based products, the company started launching several phones at regular intervals. In the last year, it has surprised us with Meizu M2 Note, Meizu M2 and Meizu MX5 smartphones.

All the three devices got good response in the market and in here we are going to share few tips to speed up the performance of Meizu M2 phone. The 5-inch smartphone came with the Android 5.1 Lollipop version and powered with 2GB RAM. Few of its users reported about the performance issue in the phone after using for few months. So, we performed few things on the phone and finally we managed to increase the device functionality. Relax back and go through the below processes to boost up your device in 5 minutes.

Download Latest Software

Although the device comes with Android Lollipop version and Flyme 4.5, the manufacturer will release few OTA updates regularly to enhance the device performance by fixing minor bugs. Anyhow, the users will get a notification about the updates, and they can download the same. But few users cannot receive the update notifications, and they can check for the same manually by opening ‘Settings>About Device’.

If the update is available, then download and get it on your device using WiFi connection as the file will be large. Once done with the update, you can experience better performance on your phone. Also, there are updates available from the third-party developers, but they may void the device warranty. So you need to check properly before opting for those updates.

Enable Developer Options

As we all know that, the latest versions of the Android have enabled a special feature named ‘Developer Options’ on the device. To enable these options, you need to follow your device manual as it is different for different handsets. Coming to Meizu M2, you can dial ##6961## from the dialer to enable these options.

You can now find these options under ‘Settings>Accessibility’. Open the ‘Developer Options’ and you can get access to few extra features. Scroll down the options and activate those which help in increasing the performance of the device. Find ‘Window animation scale’, ‘Transition animation scale’ and ‘Animator duration scale’ options and by default, they were pointed to 1X. So, turn them off or reduce the point to 0.5X so as to get the instant improvement in the functionality of the device. You can go back to the old settings by reversing the process at any time.

Say No to Widgets and Live Wallpapers

Every gadget lover wishes to fill up the device with a wide variety of widgets, and they love doing it. But, by using more number of widgets, the processor gets over-loaded and as a result, you can experience the lag in performance. So, all you need to do is, disable and remove all the widgets from the phone and make sure to use one or two widgets if needed.

Another simple task which can improve the device functionality is removing Live Wallpapers. All these wallpapers may enhance the look of your phone’s display but in the backend, they will slow the processor resulting in the over-heating and other performance issues. So, remove all those wallpapers from the phone and use normal wallpapers.

Uninstall Pre-installed Apps

Another reason for the slow performance of the phone is bloatware. You may wonder how could this happen, but the fact is that your device comes with the pre-installed apps which may cause the performance issues. So, all you have to do is, find out such apps and uninstall or disable them so that they cannot effect the processor.

Also, some of you might have installed several unnecessary apps from the play store. These apps will occupy the storage space and sometimes cause the issues like over-heating and freezing of the phone. So, to avoid those issues, you need to uninstall them from the app manager to ensure the safety of the device.

Remove App Cache

The Cache, when increased in size, will slow down the performance of the phone. So, you need to check and clear the cache stored in the apps and device regularly. To remove the cache stored in the apps, open each app from your app manager and tap on ‘Clear Cache’ button to remove the cache. By doing this, storage space will be increased, and also, you can see the smoother functionality in the device.

Perform Factory Reset

Sometimes your phone may showcase severe performance issue, and you cannot bare it. Then, you can perform the factory reset to set the things right. But make sure to take the backup of all the data present in the phone as this process will erase everything from the device. To perform a factory reset, you need to turn off the phone and press Volume up and power button simultaneously at the same time.

Now, you can see Flyme Icon and two options where you need to select ‘Clear Data’ and tap on ‘Start’. This will take some time, and your phone gets rebooted. That’s all; now you will have a whole new device in your hands which can perform smoother than before. Always remember to perform the factory reset only when necessary.

Few Additional Tips

If you follow few other precautions other than the above, you can easily gear up the device performance. Make sure to turn off the connections like WiFi, Bluetooth and data whenever not in use. Do not open the data connection while travelling or in low-network areas as this will drain the battery faster. Do not attempt to open all the apps at once as this may hang the phone due to over-load on the processor. To get full usage of battery, always use original battery chargers while charging the device.
