Meizu E3 with 5.99″ 18:9 Display, 6GB RAM & Snapdragon 636 SoC Launched
Earlier this year, Meizu launched the mid-range M6s smartphone with mblu branding. Now, a new Meizu smartphone with the model number M851Q is listed on TENAA. Just like the M6s, the M851Q also comes with mblu branding. It is expected to be the Meizu E3, the successor to last year’s Meizu E2. Talking about the design, the Meizu E3 and Meizu M6s look similar from the front. The company is also going with the same side-facing fingerprint sensor as seen on the Meizu M6s.

It comes with metal unibody design and sports curved antenna bands on the top and bottom edges. The power button and fingerprint are placed on the right edge, while the volume rocker and sim card slot are on the left edge. On the rear, the Meizu E3 sports dual cameras placed on the top left corner. The listing mentioned the smartphone to sport 5.99-inch display with Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) resolution.
The device will be backed by a 3,300mAh battery and measures 156.8 × 75 × 7.6 mm. It is also mentioned to support dual SIM dual standby and will also include MicroSD for storage expansion. The Meizu E3 will be running on Android-based Flyme OS. Under the hood is the 64-bit unknown octa-processor. It will be launched in 4GB and 6GB RAM variant with 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB storage options.
Based on the leaks, the smartphone will be offering 12MP + 20MP dual rear cameras and an 8MP single front camera. Meizu will be officially launching the Meizu E3 on March 6th in China.
Meizu E3 with Dual Cameras Leaked in Live Images

Meizu had earlier confirmed to launch the mid-range Meizu E3 smartphone on March 7th in China. Now, the company has postponed the launch date to March 21st without mentioning any specific reason. The Meizu E3 is the third-gen device in the E-series and is the successor to last year’s Meizu E2. Talking about this new device, it was already listed on TENAA revealing the first look and key specifications.
Apart from the new launch date, now we also got the live images of the device. The device was shown in Blue color and comes with a metal unibody design. It offers 18:9 display on the front and vertically aligned dual cameras on the rear. As said earlier, the fingerprint sensor is placed on the right edge of the device. The recently launched Meizu M6s also came with the same side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
While the Meizu M6s came with 14nm Samsung Exynos 7872 processor, the upcoming Meizu E3 is expected to be powered by MediaTek Helio processor. The official details along with pricing and availability will be revealed on the launch day. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
Latest: Meizu E3 is Officially Launched in China, Pricing Starts From 1799 Yuan
After being in the rumors mills for the last couple of months, Meizu E3 is now officially unveiled in China. The Meizu E3 will be competing with the newly launched Redmi Note 5 (a.k.a RedmiNote 5 Pro) smartphone. Internally, both these devices share few similar specifications. Talking about the design, the Meizu E3 looks premium with the 2.5D curved glass on the front and metal unibody design.
It will be available in Black, Blue, and Gold color options. On the front is 5.99-inch LTPS display with Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz. The device comes with 6GB of RAM variant and offers 64GB and 128GB storage options. There is also a MicroSD card slot for further expanding the storage up to 256GB.
On the rear, the device sports dual camera setup featuring a 20MP Sony IMX350 sensor with f/2.6 aperture and a 12MP Sony IMX362 sensor with f/1.9 aperture. The rear camera on this device comes with Sapphire lens protection. The device support portrait mode and 2.5X lossless zoom. For selfies, there is an 8MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. While the power button and fingerprint sensor are placed on the right edge, the volume rocker is placed on the left edge.
The device also supports mobile payments via Alipay and WeChat. The Meizu E3 is backed by a 3,360mAh non-removable battery and supports up to 20W fast charging input. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and USB Type-C port. It measures 156.8 x 75 x 7.6 mm and weighs 160 grams. The device runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat based Flyme OS out of the box.
Talking about the pricing, the 64GB and 128GB storage variants of the Meizu E3 are priced at 1799 Yuan (approx $285 / Rs. 18,500) and 1999 Yuan (approx $315 / Rs. 20,500) respectively. With a slightly higher price tag, the Meizu E3 packs many superior specifications than the Redmi Note 5. The Meizu E3 will be available to pre-order from March 26th and the sales will begin from March 31st.
