Recently, we have seen leaks about the Meizu 16Xs smartphone. It is even listed on TENAA with the model number M926Q. The company today confirmed to launch its new mid-range smartphone on May 30th in China. The launch invite also confirms the device to weigh 165 grams. While all the earlier launched Meizu 16 smartphones came with flagship Snapdragon chipsets, the upcoming Meizu 16Xs might come powered by the mid-range Snapdragon 700 series chipset.
As per the TENAA listing, the Meizu 16Xs comes with a curved glossy finish body and sports 2.5D curved glass on the front. It comes with a 6.2-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ (2232 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood, the device comes powered by an unspecified octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz. The leaks suggest the device to come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 Mobile Platform. It comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
There will be no MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. However, we expect Meizu to launch the Meizu 16Xs in more storage variants. In terms of camera, the Meizu 16xs sports 48MP + 8MP + 5MP triple camera setup on the rear and a 16MP selfie camera on the front. On the rear, it might feature an ultra-wide-angle sensor and a depth sensor on the rear. The device runs on Android 9.0 Pie based Flyme OS out of the box.
It will be backed by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery and supports fast charging via USB Type-C port. As there is no rear-facing fingerprint scanner, the device might sport an in-display fingerprint scanner. It should also support face unlock using the front camera. Both the power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge of the device. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and USB Type-C port.
